European Hydrogen week 2025

This week in Brussels was nothing short of inspiring. At Hydrogen Europe, we had the privilege of hearing directly from the leading champions of the hydrogen sector, gaining firsthand insight into how EU and international policies are shaping the future of H₂.

A special thanks to the Clean Hydrogen Partnership for the Innovation Forum, which brought a hands-on perspective and practical guidance for the R&I community. Seeing innovators and policy makers collaborate in real time made the potential of hydrogen feel tangible and urgent.

Key takeaways from the week
Europe must move from words to action. Innovation across manufacturing and system operations needs to accelerate, projects must launch now, and scale-up cannot wait. Regulation should empower, not hinder hydrogen is more than a clean energy vector; it’s Europe’s opportunity for a just and sustainable reindustrialization. Resilience is essential: building H₂ independence will be crucial to tackle future challenges with strength and adaptability.

The momentum is undeniable. The hydrogen market is ramping up faster than solar and wind ever did. Europe is moving and to lead globally, we must act decisively today. Every step we take now shapes a greener, stronger, and more sustainable EU tomorrow.

The Energy of Collaboration

As we walked the exhibition floor and attended sessions, it became clear: the hydrogen ecosystem is rapidly evolving — and it’s doing so through collaboration. From policy makers to industrial leaders, everyone is pushing in the same direction to make hydrogen a viable, scalable, and clean energy solution.

At HSL Technologies, we firmly believe in this collective momentum. Seeing the international community come together, share challenges, and present bold solutions made the future of hydrogen feel more tangible than ever. It’s this kind of alignment that fuels innovation and accelerates deployment.

A Spotlight on French Innovation

Participating inside the French Pavilion was a true point of pride for our team. The pavilion showcased the strength, ingenuity, and ambition of French companies in the hydrogen sector. Our thanks again to Business France for providing such a dynamic platform and for championing French excellence on the world stage.

Being part of the #ChooseFrance initiative is more than just a label — it’s a commitment to building bridges across borders, to innovating with purpose, and to contributing to a global clean energy future.

What’s Next?

As we return from Rotterdam, we do so energized by new ideas, inspired by new partnerships, and committed more than ever to our mission. The conversations started at the World Hydrogen Summit are only the beginning. The journey to a cleaner energy system is complex, but together — with partners across Europe and beyond — we are moving steadily toward a more sustainable future.

To everyone we met, spoke with, or learned from: thank you. We look forward to continuing the dialogue, deepening collaborations, and shaping the next chapters of hydrogen innovation.
